Halton police have issued a warning to residents after a series of daytime break-ins at several homes in Oakville.
Police say there have been three “attempted entries” and one confirmed break-in in the Joshua Creek area.
The incidents happened between the hours of 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. and date back to April 23.
In all four cases, the suspects have tried to gain entry through the front door. “Three incidents involved the use of a pry tool and the fourth entailed the suspect trying to kick in the front door,” said Halton police in a news release.
According to witnesses and nearby surveillance cameras, a male and female have been working together to gain entry into the homes.
Police say a resident was home during one incident when the suspect tried to break in. “When confronted by the owner, the suspect immediately fled the residence to an awaiting white sedan being driven by a female driver,” said police.
The homeowner was not injured during the interaction.
The male suspect is described as white, roughly 20 years of age, five-foot-ten, with a heavy build. He was wearing a dark jacket, a dark coloured baseball hat, an orange ‘BUFF’ neckwear covering his face and was carrying a small metal crow bar.
Police do not have a description of the female driver.
