Burlington fire crews were on scene until early this morning after a fire broke out at a home on Long Dr. Wed July 3, just before 1 p.m.
Burlington’s Deputy Fire Chief Richard Renaud said that when crews arrived they found the home was fully engulfed in flames.
All occupants and pets evacuated safely thanks to the smoke alarm installed inside.
30 firefighters worked to battle the blaze while Halton EMS and Police assisted on scene.
The Deputy Chief said the extreme heat and humidity caused a challenge for the firefighters. Halton and Hamilton rehab trucks assisted in hydrating the crews.
The home is a total loss and damage extended to properties on either side. The Ontario Fire Marshall’s office has been notified.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
